Yes, I do like this pattern. A lot. I’m smiling as I look at the pictures.
I will say, though, this project went fine until the final step. That’s when the you-know-what hit the fan. The pattern designer recommends hand stitching 2 yards of halter strap bias strips. Two yards. Yikes! I spent over an hour on this one step. First, I did the slip stitch all wrong as it was showing up on the topside. Oops! That was just me being silly. Enter the seam ripper. I started up with hand stitching again, and it was taking forevvvvver (maybe I’m the world’s slowest hand stitcher?). Enter the sewing machine, that fabulous fabulous invention. While I love the look of bias tape hand stitched closed, I came to realize I value my limited spare time too much to do all of that stitching by hand. Also, note in the pictures that you barely even see the straps as they are tied behind my neck! If you decide to try this pattern, I say just machine stitch the halter straps. Who’s going to notice…or care?

What smart looking apron no wonder you’re smiling. Ohhhhh I hate when I do something dumb and have to spend the next while undoing what I’ve done. Those fabrics go so well with your hair colour too. Well its good to know the next time you can speed it up by using your sewing machine.
Happy sewing..

Thanks ladies! I actually wore this apron for a short while last night while I baked. I was more worried about getting oil or brownie mix on it than I was about messing up my around-the-house clothes!

I’ve had this pattern in my closet, but I haven’t gotten around to it yet. I think you just motivated me. I love the fabrics you chose. Thanks for the suggestion for machine stitching. I just get so impatient hand-stitching bindings on.
