Now that I’ve managed to break away from the Internet for long stretches of time, I have been sewing up some neat items!
First up is a lovely tea cozy. I made a similar one for my teapot and it is wonderful! Since I can’t gulp down tea like a Slurpee in the summer, it’s essential that my tea stay warm for a long period of time. This cozy does the trick and is now for sale in my Etsy shop! Let me add that I LOVE making my own bias tape.

Recently, I found great instructions for making a small card wallet. I love love love this Grab it and Go wallet pattern! After a two hour sewing session, I ended up with ten of these wallets. Currently I’m interchaging two of these wallets and they hold up so well. I was really getting sick of my clunker of a wallet that I’ve had for seven years now. I will never go back to using one of those standard store-bought wallets. Be sure to check out handmade kate’s blog. She created this wonderful pattern and you’ll find tons of sewing inspiration at her website!

My machine balked a bit as I did the topstitching for this wallet. The stitching is a little off, but the wallet functions just fine! In fact, this is my new favorite accessory and I use it nearly everyday.

Thanks for the compliments, ladies! I really do adore these wallets. They’re so fun and easy to make. There are endless possibilities with embellishing, too, though mine are fairly simple.

It’s been a couple or few days since I managed to catch up on my blog surfer reading. You’ve been busy! I love the tea cozy and the little wallet! Both are enviable!
